Impressive... for something that could fall away at any time... The place was dirty.. more like filthy. It was cold as expected but at least it kept most of the wind out. Outside, the wind seemed almost brutal and other felines like her would be considered insane to be still wandering about in this weather. She had no cares. No one would truly ever miss a loner such as her, especially in this kind of weather. No, it was not truly her fault for being alone nor was it her truthful right to seem so alone in her lifetime. Still in her prime and living in what could be described as a beautiful life, nothing could truly be blissful for long.
As the tattered gray creature prowled slowly and ever so quietly through the empty halls, she could hear her dinner calling. Mice were everywhere these days. Where a human may have lived before was now certain to have a family of something or another living within as well. Too bad all of these creatures in the world could live as quietly together as they once had. Bastet had shown the way to many things, and she had always allowed this she-cat to truly understand things. It was her way, as she once been told, to show and allow the ones who believed to find it on their own. If life was to truly perish and become nothing, would they be allowed to continue their life as normal as ever?

A black shadow slipped into the stone structure, silently cursing the weather. The roman's dominant had skipped away from the opera to go to the city and have a run in with his cousin. Unfortunately the weather had turned bad and Sinigami was forced to take shelter in this tomb-like place. Least there's plenty to eat, he thought as his ears swiveled around, catching the scurrying sounds. As he walked deeper into the castle another scent came upon him; the scent of another feline. So, I'm not alone here, Just then he spotted the cat's tail tip disappear around a corner.
Quickly he looked around for something that could give him a height advantage. There were some stones that stuck out here and there along the wall, almost like a broken stair case. Bunching up his mussels, Shinigami leaped to the first stone, then to the next till he was about five feet from the ground, and directly above the stranger. Slowly his orange gaze looked over the she-cat, immediately he spotted the crescent shape upon her forehead; Very interesting. Carefully, he arranged himself into a sitting position, then called down to female; "Hello, oracle," is tone was guarded, but not totally unkind.

As she turned the corner, a strange noise sounded behind her. She stopped and looked around. No one was behind her and thus she continued on without truly caring, ears back as if she was aggitated about something. "Hello, oracle."
At first she thought it was her imagination talking to her again. This time it was no lie. The tattered feline looked up and found the imposter. I should have known... seems I've got one real place to be alone anymore.. As the dull greyish green eyes stared back into his orange orbs, she did not flinch under his gaze. Oracle. That was a word she had almost forgotten about. It was something she had not been called in many many years. "What brings a higher up so far out?" She simply asked, voice deep but still very feminine. Setekh tell he was one of the well respected, whether he was one of his own or not. She could feel the air of a dominant creature from him and thus knew this. Bastet had no help with telling her that. Set moved a striped leg as she slowly lost patience to wait for his answer.

Shinigami let the cold silence go by a few minutes before he declared his answer to this strange cat. "Should a 'higher up,' as you so call me," he meowed, with a glint to his eyes. "Really tell some stranger, even if they are an oracle, what they are doing?" He lifted a paw and gave it a few quick licks before bringing it over one of his v-nicked ears. "So, now it is my turn," he said, after pacing his paw back upon the stone. "What is an oracle doing so far out?"
His orange eyes flashed as he waited for her answer; he wonder what clan she came from, if any. I haven't seen her before.. But is it possible for a crescent one to be with a clan? These thoughts made him even more egger to find out about the cat that was below him. Though, Shinigami had a feeling that he wouldn't get much, for he himself hadn't given much in his answer.

Setekh just about had it with being called an oracle. All she had ever been called her entire life was oracle or crescent head. She hated it. "My business is my own. Now, unless you know how to survive on your I suggest you run back to your clan." The feline spoke, merely turning her back on the dominant as she began to continue on her way to the abandonned kitchen. She was hungry and dinner was making noise in there. This male was of no importance, and will continue to be of no importance in her eyes until her belly was full for the day. Otherwise her attitude toward others would continue to decline, making her unhappy and very unwell in her mind.
Waiting for the reply of the tom was boring and tiresome. If he wanted to continue talking, he would just have to follow her towards some food. Her tail flickered back and forth, her prowling walk turning into a crouch like waiting game as she stood by the corner door. Ears pricked forward, back, and from side to side as she listened. Tail swishing almost impatiently. Once a sound was pinpointed, she dashed into the room. The only thing heard from where Set had gone was a muted squeek of a rat dying.

Shinigami's maw parted in a hiss after the oracle had spoken, "I'd watch my tongue if I were you." His gaze bore into her as she turned her back and walked toward another room, Insolent bitch. Right then the black cat no longer cared that this cat was of a higher power; she had just made herself another worthless being in his eyes. But now he was at a loss, for the weather was still raging outside, and he was no fool to try and tempt it. A nicked ear swiveled as a squeak sounded from the room the she-cat had entered. The sound made him aware of his own hunger.
With a forced breath, Shinigami jumped from his perch and made his way to the kitchen. Only in a massive invasion of rodents would none of the simple creatures take note that predators were a-foot. Slowly he walked pass Setekh, not even giving her a glance, and walked to the middle of the room. He took up a rather regal-looking sitting position and waited. At first the rodents were wary of him, but as the seconds went by without him moving; they slowly grew braver. Slowly one approached the dominant until it was just an inch from the cat's paws.
With a flash of movement, the rat was thrown into the air and then plummeted to the ground. As it landed, Shinigami pounced and ended its life with a quick bite. A placid grin appeared as he removed his fangs from the creature throat, Its been awhile. His eyes floated over Setekh for a moment, a darkness glinting within them as he remembered the three lives he had taken. "Ending a life is very easy, don't you agreed?"

She had deliberately ignored his comment and everything else he did as she went what some would call a form of hunting. She really just wanted to be left out of any true fights going on and she did not trust in their gods. They only meant the worst to her and Bastet so far has spoken truth beyond reasoning. As he came prowling about, she stood over her her kill, watching him pass by. She was not worried of him taking her rat seeing as there was plenty more to feed five colonies. Then he sat, waiting. Her crescent head watched him then lost interest as her stomach growled again. Now is not the time to care for curiousity over another... feed first then talk over things later. Set thought to herself. As she picked up her dead rat, she watched as he pounced and killed the rat. Show off.. she mumbled to the dead creature in her jaws. I doubt he'll be much trouble soon. As soon as the chance arises, I'm taking safety elsewhere.
The feline barely heard the male talking to her, surprised he even wanted to still talk to her after her snipe remark. In surprised her, but not so seeing as he clearly had something in his fur planned. It was no business of hers. And what he was doing here exactly was not what she really intended to know. Even the cat deity would not tell her. Curiousity of something was one thing, but knowing the true intentions was to be never taken likely. "Indeed. It's almost as if it just too simple. Yes?" She spoke, as she found herself a corner and letting her rat go. A small grin of mischief on her maw.

As the dark feline awaited the loner's answer, he placed a paw on the dead creature before him. Shinigami pawed at its body for a few moments before unsheathing his claws and bringing them down the rat's stomach. "Yes, sometimes it is just too simple," he said slowly as his gaze was fixed upon the crimson liquid that started to flow from the rat's body. Suddenly bored with his kill, he tossed the body aside, its blood staining the floor as it slid to a stop. "Crap, that was my dinner, was it not?" he growled casually, flicking his tail tip. "Always more where that came from."
His orange eyes floated around the room before landing on a rather plump looking rodent. Slowly the dominant took his body closer to the fat little thing; only his eyes showed his intention. Then with quick paws the rat was thrown into the air with a trail of blood flying after it. The wounded creature landed with a soft 'thud' and it let out a loud squeak of pain. Shinigami padded over to the rat as it was struggling to stand, his eyes glittered darkly. Then he placed a paw lightly across the rat's chest and sank his claws deep into its flesh. The rat continued to squeak in pain as it struggled fruitlessly to escape its tormentor's claws.
"Sometimes you just have to prolong death in order to enjoy it," he meowed, looking across the room to Setekh, where she sat in her little corner.

As he spoke up and toyed with his dinner, she began to munch on hers. The skin tasted terrible so she pulled it off and began to eat the meat and the insides of the rat. It was juicy and perhaps not the best of things to be eating since it was a rat, sadly her tastebuds were calling more towards fish anymore than rats. Fish were so much more easy and so much better to eat. And somehow they were better conversation food to her unlike rats that only brought a distaste in many things. Once again he spoke, this time the she-cat did not know if he was talking to himself or wanted her to answer his little comment about the rat. Strange cat... I still need to be wary of him though.. Setekh reminded herself. Considering what she had said earlier, she knew there was always the chance of someone holding a deep grudge over it. Well a grudge not too big but still. She knew she would be repaid with something rather unkind eventually.
Once again Shinigami took a life. The only difference this time; he was torturing it to prolong the death sentence. As he tortured the dumb rodent, she could not help but watch. The hint of amusement was in her eyes as she watched it plead with those beady eyes to be left alone. But by that time, it was already too late for it. "Amusing as it is, I still have to say that it won't fill your belly up." She smirked, still watching the critter. All other rodents disappeared when the torture of the last one started. They no longer wanted to hang around, then again Setekh would not want to either. But she had learned that being steadfast was better than running away, even if it meant to getting new scars.

"You may be right about that, Loner," the darken cat said, dropping the oracle title he'd given her earlier. Shinigami no longer felt the she-witch deserved such a title and that wouldn't be the only thing that would be dropped from her if she didn't watch herself. Revenge was in his blood, and he had learned to embrace it long ago. Slowly the predator removed his gaze from Setekh and looked down at his prey, a dark look entering his orange eyes. Die! his mind yelled as he slowly moved his paw to the rat's throat and sensing its doom, the creature stopped struggling. The corner's of the feline's mouth turned up slightly into a slightly impish grin as his claws slit through the rodent's throat.
The blood slowly seeped out of the small creature's throat and onto the floor as its movements grew more and more faint. As soon as its movement stopped, Shinigami lifted his paw off of its body. This time the roman sank is teeth into the warm body and ripped out a small chunk. He chewed it with a thoughtful expression on his face, then he swallowed it with a small gulp. "So how long have you been around?" he asked quaintly before taking another bite.
